Whichever option you choose, you'll find comfort, tranquility, and a touch of nostalgia within these walls.

Now, let's take a step back in time and delve into the history of The Scandinavian Hall. Built in the early 1900s by Scottish immigrant, John Shaw, this European-inspired hall is a testament to his craftsmanship. Shaw meticulously chiseled every stone, sourced locally, to create this architectural gem. Initially serving as a mercantile store, the hall provided essential goods and support to the eastern Oregon community. Today, it stands proudly as an Oregon Historic Site, recognized by the National Registry of Historic Places.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by an open-concept space that seamlessly blends ancient grandeur with modern comforts. Each side of the hall features a king-sized bed on the main floor and two full-sized beds in the loft, providing ample sleeping arrangements for your group. Cozy wood stoves, bathrooms, and well-stocked kitchens with essentials complete the layout.

Throughout the hall, you'll be transported back in time by original stone and sturdy wooden structures, lovingly preserved during the restoration process. The furniture and distinctive decor pay homage to the hall's European heritage, creating an ambiance that invites rejuvenation. Gather around the large dining room tables, reminiscent of the Viking feasting halls, and share in the spirit of camaraderie and celebration.

For larger groups or special occasions, lockable double suite-share party doors connect the east and west halls, allowing for a seamless flow between the spaces.

When you book the all-access option, you'll enjoy full and private access to every part of The Scandinavian Hall. Whether you're booking directly with The Suite Blue or through popular vacation rental platforms like Airbnb, your experience at this castle-like vacation rental will be nothing short of memorable.

Embrace the opportunity to stay in a piece of history, where the past meets the present, and create lasting memories in the heart of eastern Oregon. Airbnb review

“Our host, Tasheena, made the check-in and check-out process a breeze. My partner and I were seeking a quiet winter getaway and it was such a perfect and memorable experience. After a long day of snowshoeing adventures, the spa-like shower, warm fire, and heavenly bed provided a relaxing retreat. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the snow fall outside the large windows at night while the room was glowing from the wood stove. My partner did have to work remote for one day, so the wifi and several spots to plug in saved the day. CJ’s country store and the North Powder Cafe also saved the day, although the Airbnb kitchen was ready to take on two lazy chefs. We already plan on returning as this is fully equipped for a weekend with friends and family, and it’s on the way to Anthony Lakes Skiing. Other notables: the smell of the cedar in the shower, luxurious plush shower towels, the ambiance of the lighting, quiet neighborhood.”
