The Space

This exceptional vacation rental in downtown Baker City, Oregon offers a unique experience that surpasses the ordinary hotel rooms you'll find in the area. With a remarkable history and only one owner in 71 years, this 2-bedroom, 1-bath home exudes charm and authenticity.

During the restoration phase, we made careful additions to enhance your comfort and style while honoring the home's original character. We installed air conditioning for your convenience and added some mid-century modern decor, as well as a few antique furniture gems from Sevoy Furniture Gallery in Meridian, Idaho. Everything else in the house is original, including the stunning hardwood floors that were discovered hidden beneath the carpet. These floors, held in a time capsule of their own, can now be admired by all who visit.

Situated in a tranquil residential neighborhood, The Time Capsule offers a peaceful retreat while being just a few blocks away from downtown attractions. Barley Brown's Taphouse and Restaurant, The Main Event Sports Bar, Sweet Wife Baking, and other local favorites are within easy reach, ensuring that you can make the most of your time in Baker City.

The home spans 2,334 sq ft, including the unfinished basement with a washer and dryer. The living room and dining area are beautifully connected in an open-concept layout, with the kitchen located in the adjacent room. The basement and one-car garage are accessible through the kitchen, providing additional convenience.

Both of our themed rooms, adorned in green and blue or blue and pink pastel, feature comfortable queen beds and ample storage space characteristic of the 1950s era. For those in need of a dedicated workspace, the blue and pink room also boasts a lovely antique secretary desk.

The cozy yard, nestled on a corner lot, features lush green grass, trees, and shrubs. You can relax on the small deck accessed through the sliding door, enjoying the shade and the neighborhood views.

If you're a traveler in search of longer-term accommodations in Baker City, Oregon, we are pleased to accommodate you. The Time Capsule is an ideal choice for traveling nurses, lab technicians, contractors, and anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming space for an extended stay.

Airbnb review

“Tasheena's house was a wonderful retreat: super close to Baker City’s Main Street, close to grocery stores, and situated in a quiet neighborhood. The house was spotless, cozy, and comfortable. We were so glad we chose this place instead of a hotel room. We really appreciated being able to use the garage so we didn't have to take all our ski gear out of the car each night. Tasheena was really friendly and welcoming and responded quickly when we had questions. We will definitely come back!”
